Cognitive Assessments

Cognitive Assessments

Not all memory or thinking problems are dementia. Identifying the presence of cognitive impairment is the first step in determining whether or not a patient requires further evaluation. Early detection is important as there are things you can do to help. Cognitive impairment – real or alleged – is a significant medical and legal issue. Documenting cognitive capacity at the time your estate and financial plans are finalized helps insulate them from future challenge. Concerns about a family member’s safety or ability to manage their affairs often leads to family conflict. Documenting your cognitive function can also help you stay in-control of your life and your finances.
